Panel Discussions
The following are descriptions for our panel discussions.
Ask Me Anything About Sponsorships and Municipalities!
This open and interactive panel brings together municipal sponsorship leaders from across Canada, representing three perspectives — a large city (Toronto), a mid-sized municipality (Stouffville), and a smaller community (Summerside, PEI). Moderated by Brent Barootes, the session will explore real-world sponsorship policies, challenges, and best practices through guided discussion and audience Q&A. Attendees are encouraged to bring their toughest questions or submit them in advance for an honest, practical conversation.

From Their Side of the Table: The Sponsor’s Perspective (Brand Side Perspective Panel Discussion)
While this Summit is municipally focused, this session flips the lens and puts attendees directly in the shoes of corporate sponsors. Moderated by Brent Barootes, this panel brings together brand leaders from Culligan Water Canada, Slush Puppie Canada, and INVISTA to share candid insights into how sponsors evaluate, select, and manage municipal partnerships.
Panelists will discuss what truly matters to brands when working with municipalities — from what makes a sponsorship proposal stand out, to how value, alignment, and community impact are measured internally. Attendees will gain practical, behind-the-scenes insight into sponsor expectations around activation, recognition, reporting, exclusivity, and relationship management. This session is designed to help municipalities better understand sponsor motivations, improve their approach to selling and servicing partnerships, and ultimately build stronger, more sustainable brand relationships.
